Background
The Tibetan Community of Victoria represents ethnic Tibetans living in Victoria. The first Tibetan to settle in Victoria was in 1979. The Community Association was formally established in 1985 and was incorporated as the Tibetan Community of Australia ( VICTORIA) Inc in 1996. Currently, there are over 200 Tibetans in Victoria. Through its various activities, the Community organisation not only assists its members in time of need and in maintaining their Tibetan identities, but also to contribute and shares the unique Tibetan culture within the main stream multi-cultural society of Australia.
